Douz, Tunisia
I dance in memory of ancient mystery
Of a rich golden land and a warm brown river
Where the sky is an arc of lapis lazuli
And the date palms shimmer verdant in the incandescent sun . . .

I have studied various forms of bellydance with instructors such as Elizabeth Carefoot, Jalilah, Rahma, Burke Han Dural (Izmir, Turkey) and many others. Two years were devoted to forming and dancing with the Vancouver Canadian Tribal troupe BellyBellyHip. Since early 2006, I've been the director of Troupe Medina. In addition, I dance in restaurants, at private parties and fundraisers and organise bellydance shows.

I enjoy dancing with a sword, shamadan (candelabrum), veil and wings of Isis. One of my favourite aspects of bellydance is involving the audience to participate and be part of the dance experience! Turn your celebration into a memorable event!
